Niels J. Røine is a bow maker from Oslo, Norway. He makes bows for violin, viola, cello and bass (French and German). He enjoys working closely with musicians to provide them with bows that can fit their individual needs and playing styles.
Niels J. Røine trained with Morgan H. Andersen and Charles Espey. His bows have been played by members of leading ensembles such as the Oslo Philharmonic, the Arctic Philharmonic, chamber musicians and soloists all over Europe.
THE WORKSHOP
Carved with care in Lillehammer.
Located north of Oslo in Lillehammer, the workshop is easily accessible by train. Appointments can be made to try out new bows and discover his craftsmanship. Niels J. Røine also offers rehairs and repairs and regularly travels to Oslo to meet musicians.
In addition to making bows for string instruments, Niels J. Røine offers services such as repairs, rehairs and appraisals.
A fine collection of top quality hair is always available at the workshop.
